David Allen Pitts, of Mt. Victory, Ohio, was born on July 31, 1960. His life was uniquely his own, filled with personal passions, relationships, and experiences that became part of his story and the lives of those he leaves behind.
David loved spending his free time outdoors, enjoying the peace and freedom that came with being outside. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars, shooting guns, and playing card games. These were some of the things that made David who he was.
David was the father of Amy Hammock, and through her, he became a grandfather to Aleeseah and Dushan Hammock and a great-grandfather to Amira Reid. He is also survived by his son-in-law, Dorjan Hammock.
David was also a stepfather to two stepsons, Ronnie and Curtis Reisinger; a step-grandfather to Tylor Reisinger, David Reisinger, Haven Reisinger, and Jasmine Reisinger; and a step-great-grandfather to several step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Frank Pitts; his wife, Sondra Pitts; his brothers, Gregg Pitts and Roger Pitts; his nephew, Gregg Jr.; and his niece, Amanda.
He leaves behind his daughter, Amy Hammock; son-in-law, Dorjan Hammock; grandchildren, Aleeseah and Dushan Hammock; great-granddaughter, Amira Reid; stepsons, Ronnie and Curtis Reisinger; step-grandchildren, Tylor, David, Haven, and Jasmine Reisinger; several step-great-grandchildren; his surviving siblings, Thomas Pitts, Bill Pitts, and Vickie Pitts; and his nieces, Tabitha, Tatum, Chasity, and Alisa, along with extended family and friends.
Losing someone is never simple, and the feelings that come with it can be just as unique as the life they lived. Sometimes life doesn’t give us the relationships we imagined or the time we hoped to have. There can be memories of childhood, years spent apart, a reconnection later in life, and things left unsaid.
Though David’s journey has come to an end, his family story continues through the generations that follow him. His children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family will remain a lasting part of his legacy.
May David rest peacefully, reunited with the loved ones who went before him. May those who mourn his passing find comfort in their memories and strength in one another.
At David’s request, there will be no services and he will be cremated. His ashes will be buried next to Sondra in Claibourne Cemetery in Richwood, Ohio at a later date.
The Price-McElroy Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
