HARDIN COUNTY, OH — October 27, 2026 — United Way of Hardin County is inviting residents to speak up about the people, businesses, food, events and experiences that make Hardin County special with the launch of Best in Hardin County 2026.
The community-wide campaign lets Hardin County residents nominate their favorites for recognition in 19 categories. From the best pizza and burger to the best teacher and coach, the campaign celebrates the people and places residents are passionate about.
“Everybody has a favorite,” said Martha Nau, Executive Director of United Way of Hardin County. “We want to give the community an opportunity to recognize the people and businesses that make Hardin County a great place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Categories for Best in Hardin County 2026 include:
Nominations are now open. Residents can nominate their favorites by commenting on United Way of Hardin County’s Facebook posts, sending a direct message, or emailing the organization.
Nominations are especially encouraged for individuals and businesses that may not always receive recognition but have a meaningful impact on the community.
Following the nomination period, the finalists will be placed on the official ballot, with voting taking place in December.
United Way of Hardin County hopes the campaign will encourage residents to shop local, celebrate local accomplishments and recognize the people who contribute to the strength and character of the community.
“Whether it’s the teacher who is making a difference in your child’s life, the coach who always shows up, the restaurant your family loves, or that hidden gem you can’t believe more people know about—this is your chance to give them some recognition,” Nau said.
