Shirley J. Dodge, 90 of rural Williamstown passed away at VanCrest of Ada on Monday, May 29, 2023. She was born on October 12, 1932 to the late Dale and Inez (Hindall) Steinman in VanBuren Twp., Hancock Co., Ohio. She married Howard E. Dodge on June 24,1950 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2010. She is survived by three children, Gary W. (Charlotte) Dodge of rural Forest, Linda S. (Michael) Skiver of rural Harrod and Brad O. (Carolyn) Dodge of rural Williamstown; sister Dianna (Ray) Starr of rural Forest; grandchildren, Jennifer (Dodge) Wood, Deven Reigle, Joshua Dodge, Brandon Skiver, Nicole Skiver, Brandon Dodge, Breanne (Dodge) Jackson and 11 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Melissa Reigle and Ethan Dodge.
She was a 1950 graduate of Dola High School and worked as a postal worker, retiring in 1984. She was a member of Bible Fellowship Church and Gideon’s Axillary. She was an avid quilter, pie-maker for the Williamstown Restaurant, and the co-owner of Wood-N-Lace Craft Shop. She was an amazing cook.
Visitation will be held from 1pm-5pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Arlington. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Bible Fellowship Church, Arlington with Pastor Jerry Kellogg officiating. Burial will follow in Eagle Creek Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Bible Fellowship Church or to the Gideon’s in her memory and online condolences can be shared by visiting coldrencrates.com.
