Jane Evelyn Snyder, 79, of Findlay, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at her home at Taylor Place in Findlay. Jane was born on May 5, 1944, in Kenton to the late William Forrest Fitzpatrick and Ella Jane Hatcher. She married John Robert Snyder on December 30, 1972, who preceded her in death on December 11, 2016. Jane is survived by two sons, Christopher John (Dawn) Snyder of Westlake, OH and Jeffrey Wayne Snyder of Powell, OH, and five grandchildren, Jeremy, Bridget, Sheila, Thaddeus, and Aileen. Also surviving is a sister, Lou Ann Frederick of Richmond, VA.
Jane was a graduate of Kenton High School, Class of 1962, and went on to earn degrees from Wittenberg University and Bowling Green State University. She first moved to Findlay to work as a legal secretary at Marathon. She later worked for many years as bereavement coordinator for Bridge Home Health and Hospice, and also worked for Fostoria Home Health and Findlay YMCA.
Jane loved singing and playing music. She served as organist, pianist, and music director for First Christian Church and First United Church of Christ, and filled various leadership roles in both churches. She was also active in various service organizations, including American Association of University Women, Cub Scouts, Ronald McDonald House, and the American Red Cross.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay. The funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Rick Modglin-Green officiating. Internment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
