
The Oorang Bang Festival is scheduled for this Friday and Saturday, The event will be at the former Elgin School site at 350 N. High St. in La Rue. This year’s festival is a continuation of the 100th anniversary of the Oorang Indians which began last year. The smallest NFL Franchise called the village home for two seasons in 1922 and 1923 and featured Jim Thorpe as player and team coach as well as featuring an entire roster of Native Americans
The event will feature vendors, food trucks, activities for adults and kids, and live music entertainment. The festival begins Friday at 3pm and runs through saturday.
