Lucas Walter Dyer, infant son of Andrew R. and Emily C. (Gerhardstein) Dyer, passed peacefully in the arms of his family at 3:43am on Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. Lucas was born on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. During his short life, he gave and received a lifetime of love.
In addition to his parents, Lucas is survived by his brother, Levi Douglas Dyer; grandparents, Walter and Mary Jane Gerhardstein and Douglas and Jennifer Dyer; aunt, Sarah Dyer and great-grandmother, Deanna Brady. He is preceded in death by his aunt, Rebecca Dyer.
Lucas was very much wanted and loved by his family. Lucas was prenatally diagnosed with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH). His parents worked diligently to ensure that he would have the best medical care available when he arrived. Lucas came into this world as a little fighter surrounded by the love, prayers and hope of many and all the medical care science could provide but his little body could not handle all the challenges he faced. His parents will forever cherish the short time they had holding Lucas and loving him and watching as his big brother, Levi, held his tiny hand.
Visitation will be held from 1-3pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, 200 E. Columbus St, Kenton, OH 43326. Funeral services will begin at 3pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with burial following in Norman Cemetery.
