Funeral services for Rosemary Latimer will be private, Burial will take place at Otterbein Cemetery with Robert Howell officiating. Friends and family may visit on Sunday, July 16, 2023, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 PM. at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton.
Rosemary passed on into her special place on Saturday, July 08, 2023, at the Ohio State University Hospital. She was born on October 18, 1934, in Morrow County, Ohio to the late Sheldon C. and Florence H. (Key) Rice. She married Richard Latimer on June 22, 1952, and he preceded her in death on December 02, 2002.
Surviving are 13 nieces and nephews; Phil (Brenda) Gompf of Morrow County, Kathie Prince of Morrow County, Chris (Jan) Gompf of Morrow County, David Gompf of Morrow County, Kim Meadows of Morrow County, James M. (Betty J.) Derringer of Indiana, Jeff (Jane) Derringer of Kenton, Judy (Dennis) Hahn of Marion, Joe Derringer of Arizona, Joy Jilek of Michigan, Douglas (Valerie) Ledman of Indiana, Lisa (Jay) Taylor of Indiana and Susan (Tom) Eastman of Illinois.
She was preceded in death by 4 siblings: Donald Rice, Marilyn Gompf, Betty P. Derringer, Frieda Ledman and nephew, Donnie Rice.
Rosemary worked for Roof’s Law Office starting in 1953, working for 3 different generations and resulting in a 70-year career.
She was a member of the Kenton Elks, LaRue United Methodist Church and Kenton United Methodist Church.
Rosemary enjoyed playing shoot the moon, doing word searches, playing bingo and going shopping. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews and special friends from Sisters’ (Midway) Restaurant.
The family would like to thank Vancrest of Ada, Lima Memorial Hospital and the Ohio State University Hospital for their care and kindness for Rosemary.
Memorial contributions in Rosemary’s honor may be made to Hardin County Humane Society, Hardin County Community Foundation or Mary Lou Johnson Library.
