A celebration of life service for Carol J. (Wells) Long will be held at 5:30 P.M. on Thursday September 14, 2023, at The New Hope Church in Kenton with Pastor Jason Manns officiating. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Carol went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at the St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima. She was born on June 25, 1942, in Kenton to the late Carl and Helen (Amsler) Wells. She married Dale Long and he preceded her in death.
Surviving are 6 children; Patty Burmeister of Castalia, James (Theresa) Gibson of Virgina, Kathy (Doyle) Helton of Kenton, Tom (Jessica) Gibson of Kenton, Jenifer Stauffer of Kenton, Kelli Long of Wapakoneta, 2 sisters; Linda (Frank) Nichols of Kenton, Sherry Rowe of Kenton, 3 brothers; Jim Wells of Kenton, Denny (Peg) Wells of Kenton, Bob (Diane) wells of Kenton, 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings; Evelyn Wells, David “Crock” Wells, Tom Wells, Gary Wells, Larry Wells, a son-in-law; Russ Burmeister, and a brother-in-law; Larry Hollen.
Carol worked various jobs in the local area but retired as a cook from the Hardin Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, especially with her grandchildren. She always baked all of the birthday cakes for the family as well as christmas cookies.
She was a member of the New Hope Church in Kenton. Carol loved the lord and was always reading her bible.
Family is what was most important to Carol. She spent as much time with them as she could. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Memorial donations in Carol’s honor may be made to the New Hope Church of Kenton.
