Obituary for Wanda J. (Humphreys) Rexroad

Wanda J. (Humphreys) Rexroad age 85 of Forest, died at her residence on Oct. 25, 2023 with her daughter by her side.  She was born May 13, 1938 in Elkview, WV to the late Conrad Humphreys and Lottie (Boles) Humphreys. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Milton “Bill” Rexroad whom she married on July 13, 1954, he preceded her in death on Nov, 21, 2009.  She is survived by her daughter Donna (Wayne) Augustus, Forest, 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two brothers Conrad “Red” Humphreys and Woodrow (Gladys) Humphreys, Charleston, WV, four sisters-in-law Nancy Burdette, Wallings, TN, Louise Scott, Newark, Minnie (Gertrude) Rexroad and Annette Heater, Buffalo, WV, a very dear friend of our family Charlene Pondillo and her daughter Tianna Pondillo, they are family along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by sons Milton Wm. Rexroad and Theodore “Ted” Rexroad,  grandchildren Joseph DeWayne Rexroad and Heather Renae Rexroad, brothers Carl, Larry, Bood, Eugene and Rome Humphreys, sisters Mildred Summers, Carol “Hotsie” Anderson and Virginia Jones. Mrs. Rexroad was a homemaker, PTA member, Sunday school teacher at Bible Baptist Church, Akron,  and youth leader along with her husband. She was also the neighborhood babysitter and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren

Funeral services will be held on Sat. Oct. 28, 2023 at 12:00PM in the Clark Shields Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Bishop officiating.  Visitation is from 10:00AM-12:00PM before time of services at the funeral home.  Wanda’s final resting place will be next to her husband in the Radar/Rexroad Cemetery in Walton, WV.   To extend a condolence or share a memory visit www.shieldfh.com.
