John Robert Spencer III, age 80 of rural Huntsville passed away at his residence on Friday, April 26, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born in Bellefontaine on February 1, 1944 to the late John Robert II and Donna Ruth (Underwood) Spencer. He married Connie S. Stout on February 20, 1971 and she survives. Also surviving are two children, John (Nichole) Spencer and Tobi (Darin) Collins and three grandchildren, Carson, Isabella and Ameilia Spencer. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sandra Bradbury and Anita Bettis. He was a 1963 graduate of Indian Lake High School, and retired from SuperFoods. He enjoyed golfing, mowing, mushroom hunting, eating out, his grandchildren’s sporting events and fishing with his grandson.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. Burial will follow in Huntsville Cemetery where full military rites will be presented by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
