Multiple County Fire Departments Unite in Response to Tragic Belle Center Barn Fire: Many Horses Lost, One Person Injured

Numerous horses perished and one person was injured as a result of a large fire at a horse barn near Belle Center this past Saturday.

Media outlets have reported that 44 horses died at Brant Performance Horses on State Route 638.

The fire was reported at around 12:15pm on Saturday afternoon.

One person was transported to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, but their condition has not been released.

Multiple fire departments from Logan, Union, and Hardin Counties were dispatched and were on the scene until early Saturday evening.

The barn was a listed as a total loss.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
