Michael Scott Lonyo 01/27/1965 – 07/07/2024 (59 years old)
Michael Scott Lonyo, age 59, formerly of Dunkirk, OH passed away on July 7, 2024, after his battle with renal cell carcinoma.
Scott was born on January 27, 1965, in Findlay, OH to surviving mother Cheryl (Carl) Ernst. At Hardin Northern, he was a basketball star and known as a ladies’ man. After graduating in 1983, he started his long career at Honda of America, where he touched many lives and made more friends than anyone could imagine. He enjoyed watching the Browns (lose), golfing (not well), Nascar, and photography (A+).
He retired in 2020 and traded in the Ohio weather for Florida sunshine. There he enjoyed long walks on the beach with his metal detector, taking photos in the nature preserves, and spending time with his family and beloved English Bulldog, Rona.
Scott is survived by his children Nichole Kirk, Kirsten (Doug) Clark, Jessica (Josh Long) Lonyo, Shelby (Jarrett Holmes) Lonyo, Giavanna Surprenant, and Robert Junior Surprenant. He also loved being a grandparent to Desmond Clark and Theia Long.
Also surviving are his wife Angela Lonyo; aunt Debra Atkins; and siblings Donna Ramsey, Betty (Martin) Hooker, Don (Laura) Daniels, Dawn (Justin) Choquette, Ronda (John) Miller, Sue Johnson, and William Daniels.
Scott was predeceased by Clifford and Margorie Atkins, Donald Daniels, Dylan Miller, and Tammy Daniels.
The family is hosting a memorial on Friday July 12, 2024. It will be held at Memorial Park Golf Club located at 15906 State Route 309, Kenton OH 43326. Friends and family will be welcome from 11-3 and 4-8 to celebrate his life and share stories and photos. There will be a small service at 5:00pm.
