Marlene “Maggie” Harder was born February 6th, 1937, to J. Berlin and Maxine (Wiley) Gray. She was raised in Byhalia, OH and married LeRoy Harder on May 13th, 1955. The couple had 5 children: Steve (deceased); Mike (Janet) of Kenton, OH; Duane of Mt. Victory, OH; Brenda Ruppright of Dahlonega, GA; and Tim of Markesan, WI.
Marlene worked as a bus driver for North Union and Ridgemont. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and visiting with her many friends and Amish neighbors. In her later years, Marlene split time between her home in Kenton, OH and her home in Frostproof, FL. Most recently she has been cared for locally by her family and then new friends at Hardin Hills and recently at Kenton Nursing and Rehab, and through Heartland Hospice.
Marlene was loved by many including her siblings, Robert Gray, Eilene Kale and Jeraldine Gray-Creviston; her 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and her great, great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, LeRoy, her son, Steve, her brother, Russell Gray, and her parents, Maxine and J. Berlin.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 to 7:00 on Monday July 29, 2024, at SCHINDEWOLF-STOUT-CRATES FUNERAL HOME. The burial will be private, and a memorial will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the choice of donor.
