The Hardin County Astronomy Club is hosting a Perseid Meteor Shower watch party on Friday, August 9th from 9:30pm until midnight.
The annual Perseid Meteor Shower peaks this weekend and the community is invited to join members of the Hardin County Astronomy Club for a meteor watch party at the Lake Idlewild property just north of Kenton.
The club will have telescopes set up for public observation and can provide guidance on spotting meteors and other night sky objects. Guests are invited to bring their own telescope or binoculars as well.
The Hardin County Astronomy Club encourages attendees to dress for the weather and bring camp chairs, blankets, bug spray, flashlights, and drinks.
For more information on the event, please message the Hardin County Astronomy Club on Facebook.
