Edith E. Elwood age 93 of Westbrook Assisted Living, Upper Sandusky, OH went to be with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 31, 2024 at 8:02am. She was born December 21, 1930 in Hardin Co. to Jacob and Julia Born. She was married to Charles Elwood Sr. on July 11, 1949 in Greenup, KY. He preceded her in death in Sept. 2000 after 51 years of marriage.
Surviving are sons, Charles Jr. (Cheryl) Elwood, Jay D. (Jeannie Little) Elwood, Jeff A. (Tevon) Elwood all of Forest, two daughters Judith Kae (Larry) Harmon, Upper Sandusky and Becky (Ron) McDaniel of Columbus. Edith is survived by many grandchildren, great and great great grandchildren and step grandchildren. Also surviving sisters; Ann Dilley, Mary Sons and Violet Born. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Bridenstine, Ethel Zoll, brothers; Jacob Born Jr., John Born Sr. and grandson Robbie McDaniel.
Edith was a former employee of Nick Nac Restaurant in Fostoria, OH, Automotive Fiber of Forest, OH, North Electric, Kenton, OH. She was a founding member of Forest Garden Club, Red Hat Society, Patterson United Methodist Church. Edith enjoyed being a room mother, bible school teacher and doing crafts and painting.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday Sept. 4, 2024 at 11am in Clark Shields Funeral home with Pastor Dennis Livingston officiating. Burial will follow at Patterson Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday 9am-11am at Clark Shields Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics or Forest Library in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S.
