Wyandot County Public Health announced recently they are working on a pilot program with the Ohio Department of Transportation to provide free Narcan to the public at the rest stop on US 30 in Nevada via a vending machine.
They stated that they will partner with ODOT to keep this machine stocked so that the community can stay prepared for an emergency.
Narcan is a nasal spray that provides temporary relief from an overdose caused by opioids. Whether it’s someone in active addiction, a loved one who accidentally took the wrong dosage of prescribed medications, or a little one who came across something dangerous, Narcan saves lives by offering the gift of extra time to get help.
For more information on the program, please contact the Wyandot County Public Health Department at 419-294-3852.
