The Logan County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to refrain from open burning due to drought conditions.
The office noted that there has been an uptick of controlled burns getting out of control in Logan and surrounding counties.
Also, as harvest season starts, farmers are being asked to check fire extinguishers to make sure they are fully charged.
Farmers are also being encouraged to keep a water wagon in the field where they will be working.
