Jean Louise Sleesman, age 89, of Ada, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Mennonite Memorial  

          She was born on February 26, 1935 in Somerset, Ohio to Irven T. and Freda M. (Ringhiser) Warthman who preceded her in death.   Jean married Henry C. Sleesman and he preceded her in death in April of 1982.         

          Jean retired from the Ada Exempted Village School, where she worked as a teacher for thirty years, retiring in 1994.  While teaching Jean was a cheerleading advisor and drama director.  Jean sold tickets at high school sporting events from 1964 until 2017.  She was a member of the Ada First United Methodist Church.  Jean graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1964 and received her Master’s Degree in July 1977 from Dayton University.    

          Surviving her children: George (Kalua) Sleesman of Ada and Carla Ann (Orville) Conley of Columbus Grove; nine grandchildren: Christopher (Christina) Conley, Heidi (DeVon) Yates Tucker, Craig (Victoria) Conley, Jeremy (Natalie) Sleesman, Dr. Garrett (Alex) Sleesman Spicer, Yvonne (Richard) Nave, Timothy Kline, Carter Morgan and Autumn (Garin) Flohr; eleven great grandchildren: Wyatt Yates, Whitney Yates, Nathan Conley, Beckett Sleesman, Richard Nave, Chloe Nave, Cyprus LaBrie, Hyde Heck, Edward Thomas Flohr, Hunter Conley, and baby girl Flohr; three sisters: Alice Mihalus of Cuyahoga Falls, Marilyn Pratt of Texas and Carol Biller of Mt. Blanchard.

          She was preceded in death by her daughter, Alice Jane Sleesman. 

          Private family services will be held at a later date.
