of Dola

Funeral services for Lois Ann (Eibling) Sheldon will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Vincent Pontius and Pastor Gregg King officiating. Burial will follow at Dola Cemetery. Friends and Family may visit from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the funeral home. 

Lois passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024. She was born on September 13, 1937, in Kenton to the late Walter and Katherine (Kurt) Eibling. She married Doyle Sheldon in 1960, and he preceded her in death on May 5, 1990.

Surviving is a daughter, Lori (Bob) Bame of Dola, 3 sons, Perry (Assel) Sheldon of Kenton, Kurt (Amy) Sheldon of Kenton, Greg Sheldon of Bellefontaine, 11 grandchildren, Dilnaz, Kastle, Kaiden, Gage, Weston, Aaron, Jared, Cynthia, Peyton, Addison, Bo, and 6 great-grandchildren.

Lois graduated from Hardin Northern High School in 1955. She then attended the Columbus Beauty Academy. Following her certification from beauty school, Lois opened and owned Lois Ann’s Beauty in Kenton. She also worked for the Hardin County Council on Aging where she was the director of adult day care.

Lois was very active in the community, her churches and the Hardin Northern Schools. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Methodist Church where she was a delegate for the church conference, and she would also attend Bridgeport Church. Lois was active in Emmaus as well as volunteering for many school functions, boards and boosters. She would even drive a school bus as a substitute driver. She was also the President of the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association. 

When she wasn’t out volunteering or at a meeting, Lois loved to spend time with her family and travel. She especially liked to go on cruises. 

Memorial donations in Lois’s honor may be made to the Walnut Grove Methodist Church.
