Shooting in Perry Township Results in Fatality, Suspect Taken into Custody

One person is dead, and another is in custody after a shooting in Allen County Tuesday afternoon.

According to a release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Charledon Avenue in Perry Township to investigate a report about a fight where gunshots were fired.

A victim, identified as 41-year-ol Jeffery Scott Paxton Jr., of Lima, was taken to Lima Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The Lucas County Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy.

A suspect, identified as 23-year-old Jacob A. Striff, also of Lima, was taken into custody at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
