Rotarian and Superintendent of Kenton City Schools, Chad Thrush shared an update on the new 6-12 building that is under construction on Silver Street adjacent to the Elementary building.
Mr. Thrush shared many photos of what will become key elements of the new school. The spaces highlighted were the preforming arts center, FFA labs, e-sports, maker space, arts and gallery space as well as a traditional library and the area that will become the auxiliary gym.
Due to projected expenses early in the process some of the “wish list items” including the auxiliary gym was cut from the project. Lower cost of materials when purchased and good returns on capital allowed for almost all of the “cut” items to return to the project.
Construction on the auxiliary gym will soon begin. The completed school is scheduled to be complete in November 2025.
