A celebration of life for Rodney Chamberlain will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Rodney Ray Chamberlain, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend, passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. 

He is survived by his mother, Saundra “Sandy” Chamberlain; his wife, Carrie (Larson) Chamberlain; and his children, Brandon Taylor, Kyle Chamberlain, Kendra Larson Chamberlain (Josh Meekins), Sabrine Larson Chamberlain (Tyler Treen). Rodney was also a proud grandfather to Laikyn Meekins and Slade Taylor. His granddaughter Laikyn brought him immense joy, and he was so excited when he recently learned he had a grandson. Rodney cherished his close-knit family, which included his siblings; Tony Chamberlain, Melinda Lutz (Lee Lutz), Rhonda Chamberlain, Richard Chamberlain, Rick Shirk (Angela Cruson Sirk), Todd Shirk, Shelly Shirk, and Tina Smeltzer, along with countless nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. His family was the center of his world, and his love for them was immeasurable. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Randall Chamberlain, Jodie Chamberlain, and Richard Shirk. 

Rodney was a man of many talents, but it was his heart that shined the brightest. Whether sitting by a campfire, sharing stories, or lending a helping hand, he lived with generosity and compassion. He had a particular tenderness for those less fortunate, always going out of his way to help however he could. With a mischievous side that brought laughter to everyone around him. Rodney had a gift for making people smile. His playful spirit and warm sense of humor brightened the lives of those lucky enough to know him. Yet, behind that orneriness was a deeply caring and thoughtful soul. He found joy in the simplest of things, often showing up with unexpected treasures for his nieces and nephews, always thinking of others. Rodney also loved to barter, always finding ways to exchange treasures or strike a deal that brought a smile to his face. 

Of all the roles he played in life, being a grandfather to Laikyn was one of his greatest joys. His love for her was boundless, and his time with her was precious. Rodney’s love for his family, his generosity, and his infectious laughter will forever be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He leaves behind not just memories, but a reminder to love deeply, laugh often, and never forget the importance of caring for those around you. Rodney will be dearly missed, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rodney’s honor may be made to the funeral home in care of the family.
