Kenton City School first graders had a very special field trip to Althauser’s Farm recently.
The students had the opportunity to explore the pumpkin patch, walk through the corn to look for deer tracks, learn about caring for bees and how to properly pick apples. The students were also able to taste treats at the pumpkin patch that included honey and apple cider.
Althauser’s Pumpkin Patch announced last year that they would not be holding anymore public pumpkin patch visits. They stated they will continue to have a small pumpkin patch, specifically for the Kenton first grade student’s who visit each fall.
KCS gave a special thanks to Mr. Althauser, who planted the pumpkins for KCS first grade students.
