Play for Purpose is holding a Turkey Drive to help area residents this Thanksgiving.
Play For Purpose is a local 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Kenton.
The group’s President, Tom Dilts stated, “We understand there are people and families in Hardin County that are less fortunate and may not have the means available to them to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal this year. We have decided we would like to help provide Turkeys that will be available to those in need this holiday season.”
Play for Purpose plans to work with other charities, churches, and food pantries to distribute the turkeys to those in need in our region.
Dilts said, “We are still working on raising funds and working on our distribution plans to be able to provide both frozen turkeys as well as donating some turkeys to places that can prepare and serve warm meals to those in need. Thanksgiving is a time of year where we gather with friends and family to celebrate the things in life we are thankful for and to enjoy a meal with one another. We have an interest in working so that everyone has an opportunity to have a hearty meal with the ones they love, and the ones who love them.”
If you would like to donate, they are recommending a donation of $40 to cover the costs for a turkey large enough for a family, but also stated that no donation is too big or small.
The group will be raising funds through the month of October and the deadline for donations is November 1st.
