Safety First: ONU’s Lehr Building Lockdown Lifted Following Threat Incident Monday Afternoon

The Lehr Building on the campus of Ohio Northern University in Ada was placed on lockdown Monday afternoon.

The action was taken out of an abundance of caution, after an email threatening an employee in the building was received.

ONU Public Safety and Ada Police increased their presence in the area, and it was announced Monday evening, that the Lehr Building would resume normal operations this morning.

ONU officials that that the safety of students, faculty and staff remains their top priority.

They stated that if you see any suspicious activity, call 911 or report it to Public Safety at 417-772-2222.

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to sign up for the Rave Alert System and the Rave Guardian App to receive safety alerts directly to your phone.

Friends and family can also join the safety network.
