John Richard Baughman, age 71, of Ada, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima.
John was born on May 3, 1953 in Kenton, Ohio to the late Earl F. and Gertrude M. (Knierman) Baughman. On August 24, 1974 John married Susan Elwood and she survives in Ada.
Also surviving is his son, Shane Baughman; two brothers: Robert (Rita) Baughman, and Ray (Becky) Baughman; four sisters: Wanda Baughman, Mary Garrigan, Nancy (Hal) Hardesty, and Jean (Robert) Miller.
He was preceded in death by two brothers: William Baughman and Paul Baughman; and a sister, Carol Holt.
John retired after working for over thirty years as a mechanic for Spallinger Combine Parts, Bluffton. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. John worked with Habitat for Humanity and helped with the Hardin County Fireworks. He enjoyed trains. If John saw a need, he was there to help.
Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada with Randy Allen officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
