The Kenton City Schools Board of Education met Monday evening.

The Board heard from a parent of a Kenton Elementary student who voiced her concern about a teacher at KES.

The mom stated that her son informed her that a teacher grabbed him and shook him in a classroom earlier this month.

She noted that violates state policy forbidding corporal punishment, and she wants the matter resolved.

She said the teacher has been allowed to work while this has been investigated causing her son to sit in fear in the classroom.

The woman said she feels this is a matter they can resolve together, but if not, she intends to report the incident to the State Board.

Also at the meeting, the Board approved several personnel items on the agenda, including supplemental contracts for employee and non-employee positions.

The Board also approved a resolution terminating the contract of employment for Robert Ashbrook as a custodian for failing to perform his duties in a competent, efficient and professional manner.

Members of the 6th grade morning announcement crew, Olivia Blue, Londyn Crum, Taylor Hanks and Isla Viers, gave a presentation to board members.

The next meeting of the Kenton City Schools Board of Education will be held on November 18.
