An 85-year-old Findlay man died after a car versus bicycle accident in Findlay Wednesday morning.

According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, Dennis McCracken lost control of the bicycle as he was riding east on the sidewalk in the 700 block of West Trenton Avenue.

The bicycle fell over and into the eastbound lane.

An approaching vehicle being driven by 18-year-old Ryleigh Field, of Upper Sandusky, was unable to stop in time and struck the bicycle in the roadway.

The Findlay Fire Department and Hanco started life-saving efforts and McCracken was transported to the Blanchard Valley Hospital and was later pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation and is pending an autopsy report.
