Fire Devastates Family Home Near Alger; Community Rallies for Support

Fire destroyed a house Thursday evening near Alger.

According to information from the Hardin County Dispatch Center, the Alger Fire department was dispatched at around 6:35pm to the 2000 block of Township Road 92.

The home is owned by Steven and Angela Decker.

The couple and their two children lost everything in the fire.

For anyone wanting to make a monetary donation to the family, you can visit the Alger Public Library.

According to information on the library’s Facebook page, a canister will be located on the circulation desk to collect money for the family.

The library is located at 100 West Wagner Avenue in Alger.

Multiple fire departments provided mutual assistance at the fire, which remains under investigation.
