Randy passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 8, 1952, in Columbus to the late George and Doris “Bunny” (Kready) Phillips. On June 9, 1988, he married Marsha Poe, and she survives in Kenton.
Also surviving are a daughter, Ashley (Bryan) Bodine of Kenton, a brother, Ritchie Phillips of Columbus, a granddaughter, Peyton Bailey, a sister-in-law, Terry Phillips of LaRue, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ron Phillips.
Randy graduated from Ridgemont High School. He retired from Durez in Kenton after 30 years of service. After retiring from Durez, Randy worked as a custodian for the Kenton City Schools for 10 years before retiring again. He was a U.S. army veteran and a member of the Amvets Post 1994 in Kenton.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Randy loved his outgoing, spunky, and vibrant personality. Randy never quite figured out in life how to slow down. On the outside he was always full of life; known as “Ran the tan man” or the man with the Mohawk. To his family Randy was a loving husband, an irreplaceable Father, and a once in a lifetime Papaw. Randy always enjoyed trading cars, shooting guns, riding his motorcycles and spending time with his family. Randy touched so many lives with his kind and loving heart. He will forever be missed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Randy’s honor may be made to the Kenton Athletic Boosters. Online condolences may be expressed at pricefh.net.
