The Kenton City Schools Board of Education officially approved a project to renovate the soccer field.
Board President Doug Carmean agreed that renovations are long over-due, but he asked if the timing was right given the on-going building project.
Finance Committee member Rodney Hensel said the timing isn’t perfect, but given the condition of the field and the safety hazard it poses for the players, they need to proceed now.
The Board then approved a quote from Field Source LLC in the amount of just under $400,000 for the project.
Also at the meeting, Superintendent Chad Thrush recognized Joy VanHorn, who is the recent recipient of the Adaptive Physical Education state award.
Brandon Ledley was named the President Pro-Tem, and the board’s reorganizational meeting will precede the next regular meeting on January 13, 2025 in the Administration Building.
