of Kenton

Funeral services for Charles “Buster” Cozad will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at the Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor Jason Manns officiating. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the service at the funeral home. 

Buster passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at his residence in Kenton. He was born in Kenton to the late Franklin and Mary Arleen (Newman) Cozad. He married Jean Jones, but they later divorced.

Surviving is a daughter, Lorraine Dietz of Kenton, son, John Cozad of the state of Washington, 6 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jerelyn Rathburn, 2 brothers: George and Jerry Cozad, and a sister, Alice Stahl.

Buster graduated from Kenton High School in 1958. After graduation he joined the U.S. Army.

He worked for Whirlpool for 35 years before retiring and was a member of the Kenton Moose Lodge. 

He loved playing cards and dice. In his younger years he played basketball and baseball. He even had the opportunity to try out with the Cincinnati Reds. 

Buster always enjoyed a good meal and a good nap but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
