
Ray E. “Gene” Courtad age 74 of Forest, died peaceful at Serenity Spring Senior Living at Arlington on Jan. 23, 2025. He was born Aug. 7, 1950 in Kenton to the late Marlow and Evelyn (Patrick) Courtad. Surviving is a brother Donald (Joanna) Courtad, Forest, proud of his nephews Nathan (Michelle) Courtad, Forest and Neal (Jen) Courtad, Findlay great nephews and nieces Derek Courtad and Paige Courtad of Forest, Tristen, Leighton and Kaisten Kyzik of Findlay.
Ray was a 1968 Riverdale High School graduate and served in the US Army Reserves for 7 years. He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith. Ray was a member of the VFW in Forest, AmVets and Moose in Kenton. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray was a quiet, peaceful man who was inseparable with his dog Abby.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Hueston Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Star Mothers Chapter #32 P.O. Box 456 Kenton, OH 43326 visit www.shieldsfh.com to extend a condolence or share a memory.
