A celebration of life for Eunice Poe will be held at a later date. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.
Eunice passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025, at her residence in Kenton. She was born on September 6th, 1933,1 in Dola, Ohio to the late Roy and Mary (Auten) Dettwiler. On February 17th, 1956, she married Troy Poe and he preceded her in death on October 7, 2004.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Becky (Terry “Bone”) Place of Marysville, Liz (Tom) Petitt of Kenton, 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Poe, a sister, Helen Farrington, and a brother, George Dettwiler.
Eunice graduated from Dola High school in 1951. She was a homemaker.
In her free time, she enjoyed playing on her computer, reading, and watching her favorite t.v. shows, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. She also collected anything that had an owl on it. Eunice had a deep love for animals and they seemed to gravitate to her. Most of all, Eunice loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Eunice’s honor may be made to the American Heart Association.
