Dr. Devier and Mr. Vernik of Ada Schools recently attended the Purple Star School Summit to enhance support for military children, members, and veterans in the Ada community.  The event took place on June 20th at Big Walnut High School in Sunbury, Ohio.

The State Council of the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission, along with the Ohio National Guard Youth Program hosted the 2024 Ohio Purple Star Summit. Ohio launched the Purple Star Schools Program in 2017 and now more than 500 schools across Ohio receive the designation and more than 4,200 across 43 states.

The inaugural statewide meeting of educators and supporters of military-connected students helped to provide professional development for educators and school leaders to identify, celebrate, and support Ohio’s military families.
