Allen County Sheriff’s Office Hosting Annual National Night Out & D.A.R.E 5K

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting their Annual National Night Out at the Allen County Fairgrounds in the Roschman Park area. This year’s event will be on Tuesday, August 6th and run from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM.  The goal of National Night Out is to promote positive communication between law enforcement personnel and community members to help make neighborhoods safer.

Residents are encouraged to light up their neighborhood by leaving their outdoor lights on.  All profits will be donated to the Allen County D.A.R.E. Program.

There will be a lineup of Sheriff’s Office Teams and Divisions on display to demonstrate their abilities, enhance communication and promote safety. Some of the services you will get to see will be: the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Corps, the Mounted Posse, the SWAT Team, Dive Team, Patrol Division, and Bomb Squad and several other agencies.

The have joined forces with Anytime Fitness in Lima (2119 Elida Rd. location) to host a 5K during the National Night Out event to benefit the Allen County D.A.R.E. program. The 5K will be at the fairgrounds and will begin and end close to Roschman Park. It is scheduled for a 7:00 PM start time.
