Hardin Northern First Graders Dive into Bat Research with Creative Book Project and Crafts

Photo: Hardin Northern Local School District The first-grade students at Hardin Northern have been researching bats. They have watched videos, read books, and taken notes. The students used their notes to make their own books. They used nonfiction text features like headings, bold words and table of contents. The students each had a turn to read the book to the class and enjoyed painting a bat craft.

Hardin County Community Foundation Reports Financial Growth and Approves New Policies at Quarterly Meeting

The Hardin County Community Foundation received a strong financial report at its quarterly meeting this week in Kenton. Trustees learned that the total portfolio has climbed to 13.2 million dollars, which is up 16.72% year to date. Also at the meeting, the board approved a series of policies.
