October is National Pedestrian Safety Month

The month of October is National Pedestrian Safety Month. Ohio State Highway Patrol statistics show that there were 2582 pedestrian related crashes in Ohio in 2023. To reduce pedestrian crashes, it takes caution from both motorists and pedestrians. Motorists should slow down and be prepared to stop when turning or otherwise entering a crosswalk. Pedestrians should walk on sidewalks whenever they are available.

The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office released its activity report for the month of September. There are 41 registered sex offenders in the county, and all are in compliance. During the month, six adults were arrested on felony charges. 58 inmates were incarcerated at the Wyandot County Jail during the month. Kenton Police Report Two Separate Injury Crashes on Wednesday

Two injury crashes were reported to the Kenton Police Department Wednesday. The first occurred at around 4:55pm at the intersection of South Detroit and Perry Streets. The next one was reported at around 6:30pm Wednesday evening. It occurred at the intersection of North Detroit and West Carrol Streets. No information is available on either crash at this time.
