Allen County Sheriff’s Office Issues Warning for Fake Arrest Warrant Scam

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office recently issued a scam warning.  The Sheriff’s office states that with this scam, the victim receives a text with a fake arrest warrant. The texter then claims the victim signed for a subpoena to show up for grand jury after being sent through certified mail and now needs to pay through cash cards to avoid being arrested. ODNR’s Summer Safety Reminder: Keep What Matters Afloat by Wearing Life Jackets

The Ohio Division of Wildlife is reminding Ohioans as summer approaches about the critical importance of boating safety and wearing a life jacket.  According to statistics from the U.S. Coast guard, drowning accounted for three out of every four recreational boating fatalities, with 87 percent of the victims not wearing life jackets.  In Ohio specifically, all 10 boating fatalities in 2023 were due to drowning and none of the victims were wearing life jackets. A veteran’s family fishing tournament will be held at Veterans Park, also known as Boy Scout Lake in Kenton this Saturday.
