Lima Detective Selected as Lima Exchange Club Law Officer of the Year for 2020.

Detective Steve Stechschulte, from the Lima Police Department was selected as the Lima Exchange Club Law Officer of the Year for 2020.  Detective Stechschulte was nominated along with other law enforcement officers from the community.  He has committed nearly 30 years to serving the people of Lima and Allen County.  He was thanked for his hard work that helps make Lima a safer place to live.

Lima Farmer’s Market Set to Start on June 1

The 2021 Downtown Lima Farmer's Market is set to start on June 1. It will be located in Lima Town Square at the corner of Main Street & Market Street. The market will operate every Tuesday from 2:30 until 5:30 from June 1st through September 28. The market will offer local produce, homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, natural soaps, plants, & other products.

Forest-Jackson Library Holding Exotic Zoo Event on June 1

The Forest-Jackson Public Library will hold a summer reading kick off event on Tuesday June 1. Exotic Zoo will be bringing live animals to the educational event. Due to social distancing guidelines it will be held outside at Gormley Park in Forest. It will start at 10 that morning. Those attending should bring their own blanket or chairs.

Search for New Kenton Schools Superintendent Narrowed to Three Candidates

The Board will meet Wednesday evening in special session, and will go into executive session to discuss hiring a public employee, notably a new superintendent. Kenton School Board Fills Coaching Positions and Approves Purchase of New Scoreboard

The Kenton City Schools Board of Education took care of  numerous end of school year personnel items at the Monday night meeting. Among them, the board approved Zach Turner as head football coach and Julianne Dearing as Head Volleyball Coach and Phys Ed and Health teacher. A Kenton man was arrested after a disturbance in the parking lot at Eagles Point Apartments Monday night. According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers were dispatched at just 9 Monday night on a report concerning an assault.
