Bellefontaine Man Pleads Guilty to Reckless Homicide

A Bellefontaine man pleaded guilty in a case involving the death of a Lakeview woman.   WPKO Radio reported that 36 year old Darrel Davis pleaded guilty to reckless homicide on Thursday.   Charges of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault were dropped in exchange for the plea.   The case dates back to June of 2018 and involved the death of 23 year old Kierstin Johnson, who was found unresponsive at a residence in Bellefontaine.   An autopsy revealed that […]

Honda Conducting Smart Intersection Testing in Marysville

Four Sentenced Recently in Common Pleas Court

  Four people were sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office:   .Aaron S. Miller was sentenced to a total of 45 months in prison on one count each of possession of heroin, breaking and entering and assault.   .Sally M. Neeley was sentenced to 12 months in prison on one count of identity fraud. She was ordered to pay $1060 in restitution to the victim.   The following two […]

Forest Woman Uninjured in Wyandot County Crash

A Forest woman was involved in a crash that occurred Thursday afternoon in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, 72 year old Marsha Roby lost control of her car while driving west on State Highway 53. The car ended up off the left side of the road and came to rest in a field.   Moderate damage occurred to the car.   Roby was not injured, and no citations were listed on the […]

Kenton Student Charged with Making False Alarms

A 15 year old Kenton High school student was charged for making false alarms.   The School Resource Officer would not elaborate on the nature of false alarms as the incident remains under investigation.   He did say it is a spin-off of a situation in the past that was able to be stopped before it became serious.   The officer also stated that there was never a threat made to school.

Ridgemont Board Recognizes Retired Treasurer

Wyandot County Bridge Project Delayed a Week

The start of a bridge project in Wyandot County has been delayed by one week.   According to a release from the Ohio Department of Transportation, the State Routes 67 and 231 overlap in the village of Sycamore was set to close March 4, but it is now expected to close March 11.   The closure will be for four months during the bridge rehabilitation project.   Traffic on both state routes through the village will be detoured.

IT Coordinator Voices Frustration About Courthouse Phone Service

  Nate Rodenberger, IT Coordinator expressed his frustration about Windstream phones service at the Hardin County Courthouse.   Rodenberger told commissioners that he has received irate phone calls from employees who are now using their personal cell phones to make calls because they are not coming into the courthouse on Windstream.   The commissioners asked if it would be better with another carrier, to which Rodenberger replied that he has not heard of complaints with Spectrum customers.   The issues […]
