Breaking and Entering at Apartment in Kenton Reported Saturday

An apartment was broken into over the weekend in Kenton.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, officers were dispatched to Kenton Village Apartments at 655 East Street in Kenton, where they discovered that an apartment had been broken into sometime since Friday night.   Various kitchen items were broken. It is not what, if anything, was stolen.   The incident remains under investigation.

Stolen Items Recovered at House in Kenton

A Kenton juvenile reported finding several stolen items at a residence in Kenton over the weekend.   According to the report from the Kenton Police department, a 12 year old girl flagged down an officer at the intersection of Franklin and Mill Streets to report stolen items she said were at a residence in the 700 block of West Franklin Street.   The bicycle and accessories that were recovered was valued at just over $400.   A 14 year old […]

BWC Announces More Money for Body Armor Funding

State officials and members of the Bureau of Workers' Compensation announced that an additional $1 million will be dedicated to funding body armor for Ohio law enforcement officers. Due to high demand, BWC will contribute the funds to the Ohio Law Enforcement Body Armor Program, which was created by Governor DeWine last year while he served as Ohio’s Attorney General.   The additional money brings total funding for the body armor program to $3.5 million. House Near Alger Destroyed by Fire Thursday

A house was totally destroyed by fire Thursday morning south of Alger. According to information from the Hardin County Sheriff's Office, the Alger Fire Department was dispatched around 8:15 Thursday morning to 8091 County Road 35. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived and was a total loss. No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries. Eight Hardin Northern Grads Selected to Honor Court

Marion Man Cited for OVI Following Union County Crash

A 63 year old Marion man was cited for operating a vehicle while under the influence following a crash in Union County Thursday afternoon.   According to the report from the Union County Sheriff's Office, James Caldwell lost control of his car while driving west on State Route 347.   The vehicle ended up off the right side of the road and struck a guardrail resulting in disabling damage.   Caldwell was not injured.
