Bluffton Student Art Showcased at 52nd Annual Show

BLUFFTON, Ohio—The Bluffton University art department will present the 52nd Juried Student Exhibition from April 1-May 5 in the Grace Albrecht Gallery in Sauder Visual Arts Center. EPA Announces Healthy Schools Grant Program

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing a new $50-million grant program, the Healthy Schools Grant Program, to expand the Trump Administration’s efforts to protect children where they learn and play.   The announcement is part of the President's proposed Fiscal Year 2020 budget and supports EPA’s ongoing commitment to evaluate and address risks to children’s health.   The program would provide a total of $50 million for schools to identify, prevent, reduce and resolve numerous environmental hazards.   […]

Lima Man Convicted on Charges Connected to Death of 18 Month Old Boy

A Lima man was convicted on charges connected to the murder of an 18 month old child last year.   The Lima News reported that 32 year old Gabriel Salyers was found guilty of murder, three counts of endangering children, one count of domestic violence and one count of possession of drugs.   He was found not guilty on the most serious charge of aggravated murder.   The jury deliberated for five hours before returning with the verdicts.   Allen […]

President Trump in Lima Today

President Trump will be paying a visit to Lima today.   Hometown Stations received information from the White House Tuesday night that the president's plane will land at the Lima-Allen County Airport around 2 this afternoon.   He will then proceed to the Joint Systems Manufacturing Center for a tour of the facility followed by remarks to workers and supporters.   The exact route of the motorcade from the airport to the plant is not being released for security reasons. Minor Injuries Reported in Two Vehicle Crash

Two vehicles were damaged in a crash that occurred around 3:15 Tuesday afternoon in the 900 block of North Main Street.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, 28 year old Jenny Martin, of Ridgeway, attempted to turn right from Forest Road onto Main Street, and her vehicle was struck by a car being driven by 40 year old Paul Massey, of Kenton, who in the process of making a continuous left turn onto Main.   Disabling […]

Toledo Woman Facing Drug Charge

A Toledo woman is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Kenton Tuesday morning.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers observed indicators of drug possession after they stopped the car for a traffic violation.   The vehicle was searched and possible ecstasy was seized.   The driver, 19 year old DeMarje McCalebb, was cited for possession of drugs as well as for driving under a license forfeiture suspension.

Commissioners Hear About Child Abuse Prevention Month

The Hardin County Commissioners were briefed on activities connected to Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.   Job and Family Services Director John Folk and several staff members said they will be wearing blue fleece jackets and will clean a park or two to help make them safe for children. Learning Circle for Women Farmland Owners Scheduled
