Ridgemont FFA Recognized as Top 10 Premier Chapter

Ridgemont FFA was recognized this morning as an Ohio Top 10 Premier Chapter.   Advisor Stephanie Jolliff said the selection is based on an application process in which the chapter's top 9 activities were submitted.   Ridgemont FFA will now present the activites live at the State Convention in Columbus. Hardin Hills Administrator Updates Commissioners on Facility

The Hardin County Commissioners got an update concerning operations at the Hardin Hills facility.   Administrator Sharon Huston said the census is at 61.   She reported February revenue of $286,436 with expenses at $347,850 for a loss of $61,414 for the month.   Huston said the follow-up survey revisit has been completed and Hardin Hills is in full compliance.   It was also noted that the Activity Director position has been posted.   The Commissioners and Huston then went […]

Parents Encouraged to Participate in Guiding Good Choices Program

A new program is designed to help parents, grandparents and caregivers of children between the age of 9-14.   Guiding Good Choices encourages communication with the goal to prevent kids from using tobacco, drugs and alcohol.   Robin Oates said she is currently speaking with parents, grandparents and caregivers at the Kenton Elementary School.   For the complete discussion on the topic of Guiding Good Choices, tune in Public Eye, Saturday morning at 7:30 and Sunday at noon on WKTN.

One Person was Injured After Car Strikes Tree

A vehicle struck a tree off of South Wayne Street this afternoon. The Hardin County Sheriff's Office confirms one person was injured and transported to the hospital. It appears the car was traveling east on Espy Street and crossed Wayne where it crashed into the tree. No other information is available at this time.

LaRue Man While Working Under a Vehicle

A man was killed while working on a vehicle in the 12000 block of Township Highway 67 in Wyandot County.   According to the report from the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the area where the body of Dana Green, of LaRue, was found under the vehicle.   The vehicle had been lifted on a jack, and it appeared the vehicle rolled forward and off the jack trapping Green underneath.   His death has been ruled as […]

Some Residents in Forest Under Boil Water Advisory

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for some residents in Forest.   Water was shut off for residents on Smith and West Gage Street and for 206 and 301 North Martin Street.   The water service was interrupted for several hours Wednesday as part of the ongoing water main project.   The Boil Water Advisory is in effect for those residents until further notice.

Lima Man Facing Charges Following Domestic Incident

A Lima man is facing charges following an incident reported to Kenton Police Wednesday morning.   According to the report, officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East Columbus Street in reference to an assault that occurred the night before.   It was discovered that a woman was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend and some items were damaged or stolen in the residence.   The 33 year old suspect is facing charges of assault, criminal damaging and theft.   […]
