The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced the recipients of their 2018 Leadership Awards.   The ceremony recognizes dozens of state and district award winners for their valuable contributions to our state and communities.   Honored from the Findlay district were:   Trooper Brandon P. Man Rescued From Atop Railroad Car in Lima

A man was rescued from the top of a railroad train over the weekend in Lima.   The Lima News reported that the man was spotted by a passing train operator on top of a stopped train on the CSX tracks between McKibben Street and Grand Avenue.   The ladder truck from the Lima Fire Department was called and was used to get to the man.   The 29 year old was taken to St. Rita's Medical Center for treatment […]

Four Sentenced Recently in Common Pleas Court

Four people were sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office:   .Cory B. Shepherd was sentenced to a total of 3 years in prison on one count each of tampering with evidence, criminal damaging or endangering and failure to appear.   The following three individuals were each placed on five years community control with conditions:   .Jacob A.M. Counterfeit Money Reports Climb in Findlay

There's been an increase in reports involving counterfeit currency in Findlay over the last two weeks.   According to a release from the Findlay Police Department, the denominations have been ten and twenty dollar bills.   Most of the bills have been passed at restaurants and convenience stores.   Employees handling cash should scrutinize cash and immediately notify the department if they believe a counterfeit bill has been passed.   The police department is asking that descriptions of the suspects […]

Bellefontaine Man Injured in Friday Morning Crash

An early Friday morning crash seriously injured a Bellefontaine man.   WPKO Radio reported that 39 year old Anthony Hannah lost control of his vehicle in the 800 block Heritage Court in Bellefontaine.   The car ended up off the road and crashed into a tree.   Hannah was transferred from Mary Rutan Hospital to St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima with life-threatening injuries.   The Bellefontaine Police Department continues to investigate the crash.

ACSO Looking to Identify Theft Suspect

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau is attempting to identify a male suspect who entered WalMart on Harding Highway earlier this month and appeared to begin looking for different elderly victims in the store in an attempt to steal purses and/or wallets.   At one point the suspect is captured on video stealing the wallet from the purse of a 91 year old female while she was selecting items from a shelf.   The suspect immediately used the victim’s […]

Search of Apartment Uncovers Multiple Drug Items

A Kenton man is facing drug charges after his apartment was searched Thursday afternoon.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, officers assisted the Hardin County Probation Office on a search of the apartment at Scioto Village because of suspected drug activity.   Numerous drug paraphernalia items, a bottle containing white capsules with an unknown substance and marijuana were located and seized during the search.   The 32 year old male suspect is facing charges of possession […]
