Brim’s Reports Theft of Trailer from Business Lot

Brim's Imports in Kenton reported that a trailer parked on the business lot at 370 West Franklin Street in Kenton was stolen sometime within the last several weeks.   According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, the trailer is a black Sure-Trac dump style trailer with two pull out ramps at the rear.   It is valued at $5000.   The theft is under investigation.

Vehicle Stolen While Parked in Kenton

A motor vehicle was stolen over the weekend in Kenton.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, a Marion woman told officers her vehicle was stolen while it was parked in the 500 block of South Leighton Street.   The vehicle is a red 1979 Ford pickup.   The incident is under investigation.

Attempted Shoplifting Incident Reported at Kroger

An attempted theft was reported to Kenton police at the Kroger store over the weekend.   According to the report, an unknown male suspect came into the store and placed a large amount of meat items into a shopping cart.   He then attempted to push the cart out of the store without paying for the items.   The value of the meat items was listed at nearly $400.   The incident is under investigation.

Driver Charged with OVI

A Kenton man was cited after police investigated a report about an impaired driver who had just left the Village Pantry parking lot over the weekend.   According to the report, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of East Carrol Street.   The driver, identified as 28 year old Alvaro Hernandez, was arrested for operating a vehicle intoxicated.   He was also cited for weaving and for no operator's license.

Woman Charged with Domestic Violence

A woman was arrested this past Saturday night following a domestic disturbance involving a boyfriend and girlfriend.   According to the Kenton Police Department report, officers were dispatched to 398 East Forest Road to investigate the domestic violence incident.   Police arrested 20 year old Katlynn Sturgell on a charge of domestic violence.   The victim suffered apparent minor injuries.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol announced the recipients of their 2018 Leadership Awards.   The ceremony recognizes dozens of state and district award winners for their valuable contributions to our state and communities.   Honored from the Findlay district were:   Trooper Brandon P. Schreiber, Lima Post; Dispatcher Tara J. Barnhart, Bowling Green Dispatch Center; Trooper David J. Schultz, Findlay District Investigations and Beth Stewart Bullinger (Administrative Professional), Van Wert Post.

Man Rescued From Atop Railroad Car in Lima

A man was rescued from the top of a railroad train over the weekend in Lima.   The Lima News reported that the man was spotted by a passing train operator on top of a stopped train on the CSX tracks between McKibben Street and Grand Avenue.   The ladder truck from the Lima Fire Department was called and was used to get to the man.   The 29 year old was taken to St. Rita's Medical Center for treatment […]

Four Sentenced Recently in Common Pleas Court

Four people were sentenced recently in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.   According to documents from Prosecutor Brad Bailey's Office:   .Cory B. Shepherd was sentenced to a total of 3 years in prison on one count each of tampering with evidence, criminal damaging or endangering and failure to appear.   The following three individuals were each placed on five years community control with conditions:   .Jacob A.M.
