A criminal damaging incident was reported to Kenton police on Tuesday. According to the report, a resident in the 400 block of East Franklin Street told officers that someone kicked in his back door while he slept inside. The suspect kicked in the rear door causing a dent in the door and the wood frame split. Entry was not believed to have been made inside the residence. The incident is under investigation.
Field work has begun in some parts of Hardin County as conditions allow. Corn is up in the Hog Creek Marsh and in the Scioto Marsh as well. A free lunch program will start this summer in Mt. Blanchard. WFIN Radio reported that the Wednesday Kids Lunches program gets started today in the fellowship hall of the Mt. Blanchard United Methodist Church. The meals will be served through August 7 from 11:30am until noon. A Kenton woman was arrested this week on a Union County warrant. According to the Daily Media Release from the Union County Sheriff's Office, a deputy with a Hardin County Sheriff's deputy and took custody of 33 year old Billie J. Orich on an outstanding warrant. She was transported to the Tri County Regional Jail.
A solicitation permit was issued in Forest. A solicitor from Spectrum will be in the village next week and will be driving a black 2009 Scion with Ohio license plates. The Downtown Findlay Flag Day Scavenger Hunt is scheduled for June 14. Downtown businesses will stay open late that night to celebrate Flag Day and several are participating in a special scavenger hunt. Human remains found in Marion County back in 2007 have been identified as that of a missing Louisiana woman. Today, the Marion County Sheriff's office identified the remains as that of Dana Nicole Lowery, who was 23 when she reported missing in May of 2006. Her remains were found on Victory Road in Marion in March of 2007. Lowery is Shawn Grate's first victim. Her body was found from information provided by Grate, who said she sold magazines […]
Congressman Bob Latta thanked Celina’s first responders on the House floor Monday night, after deadly tornadoes ripped through the region last week. Latta was in Celina on Wednesday to survey the damage and meet with residents. The congressman noted that the police, fire, emergency management and emergency services were out when it struck in the evening, and they worked all night long and straight through. He said it is amazing to see how the community came together.
State Route 67 at township Road 119, west of the city of Kenton, closed Monday June 3, for approximately 75 days for a culvert replacement. The project also includes the reprofiling of 67 and Township Road 119 to enhance sight distance at the intersection.
