ONU Fracking Research Reveals Impact on Small Streams

Hydraulic fracturing, or “fracking,” a natural gas and oil extraction method that has been used throughout the country for more than a decade, is episodically reducing small Eastern Ohio River basin stream levels, an Ohio Northern University study found. St. John's Church in Kenton is holding its annual All Church Social on Tuesday July 11. The event will run from 4-7pm that day at the church, which is located at 211 East Carrol Street in Kenton. The Logan County Fair kicks off this Sunday July 9. The official opening ceremonies take place at 5 Sunday evening followed by the royalty contest at 5:15, both in the show arena. Patrol Releases July Fourth Statistics

COLUMBUS – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting 11 people lost their lives in nine traffic crashes during the July Fourth reporting period, which began Monday, July 3 and ended Monday, July 4. Impairment was determined to be a factor in two of those crashes and a safety belt was not used in three of those crashes. Troopers made 133 arrests for impaired driving and 96 for drug-related charges. […]
