The University of Findlay has announced a new baccalaureate-juris doctor degree pathway for its students in collaboration with The University of Akron School of Law.

The new 3+3 pathway is designed for eligible students to enroll at the University of Findlay for three years while completing an additional three years with Akron Law. This progressive degree program allows students to apply as soon as their first year of courses, potentially shortening the time duration and costs associated with both degrees.

Concurrent courses will allow eligible students to obtain both a baccalaureate degree from University of Findlay while also completing credits toward a juris doctor degree granted by Akron Law. “Students who are interested in the University of Findlay and pursuing law will have exceptional access to academic resources to prepare for their career in law at a lower cost than might otherwise be possible,” commented University of Findlay vice president of enrollment and marketing, Nikki Hintze.

“We are thrilled to partner with the University of Findlay on a 3+3 partnership to give even more Findlay students the opportunity to attend law school and save both time and tuition, while receiving a rigorous legal education at Akron Law. We already receive quite a few applications from Findlay students every year, but we expect this new partnership to strengthen the bond between our two institutions even more. We love Findlay students because they come to us well-prepared for law school with outstanding writing and oral communication skills, and a strong work ethic. We’re excited to welcome more of these exceptional students into our J.D. program” added Barbara C. DiGiacomo, J.D., associate dean administration and enrollment management at the University of Akron School of Law.

University of Findlay students interested in this program will be provided with a specialized degree plan to follow with advising support from both institutions while enrolled. Students will pay University of Findlay tuition rates for the first three years before transitioning to Akron Law tuition rates for their final three years of the program.
