A group of residents in Taylor Creek Township are opposing the Panther Creek Solar Farm proposed for the township by parent company Pine Gate Renewables.

According to their website, “Panther Creek Solar is a proposed solar project located in Hardin and Logan counties in Ohio, up to 250 MW. The project currently sits on approximately 1800 acres located on either side of State Road 273, about eight and a half miles south of Kenton. Panther Creek is currently estimated to submit an application to the Ohio Power Siting Board in late 2024.Panther Creek Solar would provide enough local clean energy to power approximately 45,145 homes each year, and would provide low cost, clean power generation to Hardin and Logan counties.”

According to information on the No Solar Farms in Taylor Creek Facebook page, they have drafted a petition and are now collecting signatures. They will go over all the signed petitions at their next meeting on Tuesday, December 17.

The group plans to present the signed petitions to Township Trustees, who will then present them to the Hardin County Commissioners.

The next meeting will start at 6pm next Tuesday at the Taylor Creek Township Hall.
